Central-Asian seminar called Hazardous Substances and Goods: Health Care Waste and POP’s Management took place on 7-9 November in Dushanbe. It was organized and hosted by FSCI with the financial support from the Institute for Ecopreneurship (based in Basel, Switzerland).
This regional seminar summoned specialists, who work in the field of medical waste and solid organic toxins, from all Central Asian countries, including Azerbaijan. The main objective of the seminar was the discussion of the following issues: education and information sharing on control, transportation, and utilization of hazardous substances and materials. In addition, the goal was to define an approach for developing a national strategy on medical waste management in the republic of Tajikistan.
