FSCI Seminar on summarizing the results of the project “Mobilization and Strengthening of the Pilot Communities’ Potential of south-western Khatlon region for introduction sustainable management of land resources” (Shaartuz, February 16-17th 2007)
The seminar, organized by FSCI took place at the regional UN office located in Shaartuz, was the last event in the implementation process of the project “Mobilization and Strengthening of the Pilot Communities’ Potential of South-Western Khatlon Region for introduction Sustainable Management of Land Resources.” The seminar summarized the outcomes and results of the project, which had lasted in the course of 16 months. Among the seminar participants were the following:
management and staff of the UN regional offices in Dushanbe and Shaartuz
leaders of the Jamoat’s Support Center
leaders of farming communities from the 4 pilot regions of south-western Khatlon
experts and consultants of the project
representatives of local NGOs and various international organizations
There were interesting round table discussions, thought provoking presentations and films. This project serves as a research basis for the follow up project on improving the state of land resources in the pilot territories, with the financial support provided by the Global Ecological Fund.
