Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Tajikistan

On 12 July, 2011 Dushanbe hosted a seminar devoted to the discovery of the EITI program in Tajikistan. The seminar was organized by the World Bank Group in collaboration with the Institute “Open Society.” The seminar was attended by representatives of senior Government of Tajikistan, State Committee on Investments, sectoral ministries and departments, representatives of other countries to join EITI. Representative of Tajik NGOs, including FSCI, took part in seminar. Creating a coalition of NGOs in the future will be an important step toward implementing the EITI in Tajikistan.
