The international conference “Local environmental action plans. Experience and achievements of the Regional Ecological Centers of the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asian countries” (Tbilisi, Georgia, December, 7-8, 2006)

With the purpose of discussion existing the best practices, and also estimations of strategy of realization of Local Environment Action Plans (LEAP) in region of the East Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA), the Regional Ecological Center (REC) of Caucasus in cooperation with RECs of the other EECCA countries has organized the international conference «Local environmental action plans. Experience and achievements of the Regional Ecological Centers of the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asian countries”. About 70 participants have taken part in the work of conference, including employees of RECs from EECCA countries, experts of Central and Eastern Europe, representatives of the government and Georgia NGOs, the international communities. The Republic of Tajikistan was represented with two partner organizations: from the state bodies – Chairman of Committee of Environment protection of Dushanbe city – Mamadaliev B. and from NGOs community – the coordinator of LEAP program in Tajikistan, Chairman of FSCI Burkhanova M.
