Professional exchange program for leaders of environmental Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) of Central Asian countries

The professional exchange program for the leaders of Central Asian environmental NGOs took place on 20 – 31 July 2007. It was organized by the Kazakhstan “NGOs EcoForum” with the financial support provided by the Eurasia Foundation. The objectives of the exchange program were the following:

– To increase organizational and institutional influence of Central Asian NGOs;
– To boost public involvement;
– To encourage collaboration in the areas of environmental protection and sustainable development in the Central Asia region.
Among the program participants were the board members of the Public Council of Inter-governmental Commission on Sustainable Development of Central Asia. The representative of the public organization “Foundation to Support Civil Initiatives” (FSCI), who is also the board member on behalf of Tajikistan, participated in the leadership training.
