National Conference “The results of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio +20) and National Vision, on the occasion of the International Year of Water Cooperation, 2013”

One of the important outcomes of the Rio +20 Conference for the Republic of Tajikistan was the confirmation by the General Assembly of the UN the Initiative of President of RT Emomali Rahmon to declare 2013 as the International Year of Water Cooperation. The Government of Tajikistan as the initiator of the resolution organizes various activities in preparation for this year. As part of this decision on 4 December 2012 Ministry of Melioration and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the United Nations Development Programme in Tajikistan held a national conference with the participation of the Government, the Executive Office of the President, the Parliament, ministries, the Academy of Sciences, international organizations and NGOs. The purpose of the conference was to discuss the outcome of Rio +20 and a national vision on the occasion of the International Year of Water Cooperation in 2013. FSCI representative was invited to the meeting of the public environmental sector.
