Paint Lead Webinar (October 25, 2018)

Webinar on lead in paint was held by IPEN and Eco-Accord (Russia). The purpose of webinar was to discuss the legislative and economic problems of the production, import and export of lead paints. The discussion was attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations from EECCA countries, members of IPEN.

International Conference "Presentation of the second national EITI report of Tajikistan on the development of regional cooperation" (Dushanbe, October 16, 2018)

The EITI in Tajikistan is represented by the coalition of government, mining companies, civil society, investors and international organizations. The National Secretariat of the Extractive Companies Transparency Initiative (EITI) under the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan prepared the second National EITI Report in Tajikistan for 2015-2016. The implementation of the EITI in Tajikistan is carried out under support of the World Bank and the branch of the international organization of the Open Society Institute - Assistance Foundation in Tajikistan. A representative of the FSCI, a civil society member of the EITI, participated in the conference.

Gender policy in the energy sector (Astana, October 1-2, 2018)

A special session “Gender Policy in the Energy Sector” with the support of UNECE and UNDP was held in Astana within the framework of the International Petroleum Council. The goal of the seminar is ways to promote clean and affordable energy for women's empowerment, which will contribute to the realization of Goal 7 of Sustainable Development. Participants in the gender policy session were women leaders in all countries of Central Asia, including Tajikistan.

International Seminar "Assessment and risk management of water resources in the basins of transboundary rivers of Central Asia" (Dushanbe, September 26-27, 2018)

The seminar was held by the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan (with the support of USAID, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan) in the framework of the actions of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development(2018-2028)”.

Teleconference of CA countries "Adaptation to climate change" (September 25, 2018)

The purpose of the teleconference was to exchange and discuss the best practices of adaptation to climate change in the local communities of Central Asia. The teleconference was organized by the Association of Civil Society Development "ARGO", Kazakhstan under support of .Regional Offices of the World Bank in Central Asia, as well as by the World Bank offices in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. FSCI representative was invited to meeting.

Regional meeting of the network of non-governmental organizations - members of IPEN countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) (Issyk-Kul, August 27-28, 2018)

The workshop was organized by the International Network for the Elimination of Persistent Organic Pollutants (IPEN), uniting more than 700 public organizations working on chemical safety issues. The purpose of the meeting – overview of the main areas of work IPEN 2018-2020years and participation NGOs in EECCA countries in them. FSCI representative took part in the IPEN regional meeting.

International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development", 2018-2028 (Dushanbe, June 20-22, 2018)

The Conference was held by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with the United Nations and other partners to facilitate the implementation of the International Decade of Action, endorsed by UN General Assembly Resolution 71/222 of December 21, 2016. The main purpose of the Conference was to discuss further steps to implement the Plan of Action of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development", 2018-2028, at the global, regional and national levels, the development of specific recommendations for the implementation of the goals and objectives of sustainable development in the field of water resources. A representative of FSCI took part in the work of the Water Forum.
