Contest on the best practice of public participation in achieving sustainable development goals in the Republic of Tajikistan
The nongovernmental organization “Foundation to Support Civil Initiatives,” representing the Central Asian Public Council of Intergovernmental Committee on Sustainable Development in Tajikistan, conducted a contest on the best practice of public participation in achieving sustainable development goals in Tajikistan. This contest was possible with the financial support of UNEP. As the result of the contest, 6 out of 8 best practices were selected presented by Tajik NGOs, which have made significant contributions in the areas of environmental protection and sustainable development. The award ceremony took place on 11 September 2007, at the workshop of the Tajik Ministry of agriculture and environmental protection, dedicated to the realization of the Aarhus Convention in the Republic of Tajikistan.
